After-Hours Answering Service for Hotels

Two calls, one night

What Happens When a Guest Calls the Hotel at Night?

Both calls are answered in seconds. One caller gets an answer from the assistant; the other asks for a person and is put through.

What it does

What If a Night Caller Needs Help Right Away?

Lobby Engine does not judge what is an emergency, and it does not wake anyone on its own. This is what it does at night:

  • A caller who asks for a person is put through to your hotel’s direct number, if you have set one
  • Otherwise it takes their number for a call-back, and you get an e-mail, and a text if you add a mobile
  • In an emergency it tells the caller to hang up and dial 112
  • A question it cannot answer goes into your morning summary

Your direct number

Who Gets the Call at 3 A.M.?

Whoever answers your hotel’s direct number. Lobby Engine puts a caller who asks for a person through to that one number. If the transfer fails or no number is set, it takes the caller’s number so the hotel can call back.

FAQ

Hotel After-Hours Answering: Questions

Is an AI after-hours service a replacement for a night porter?

For many small and mid-size hotels the night shift mostly waits for the phone. Lobby Engine covers those calls; you keep people on site where your hotel needs them.

What if nobody answers?

If the transfer fails, Lobby Engine apologises, takes the caller’s number and lets you know to call back — by e-mail, and by text if you add a mobile.

Are night requests lost?

No. Requests wait in your dashboard, with an e-mail to tell you, and questions it could not answer go into your morning summary.
